There’s not a constant parade of these behemoths passing by during migration, rather some days you see many and other days you don’t see any. But as there are often stragglers, it’s possible to see whales any time of year. The best time for viewing is in the spring, during the months of March, April and May, and in the fall during the months of September, October and November. Occasionally a pod will linger off our coast for a few weeks and you’ll see the same whales frolicking for days. If the fog comes in, you might not see them anymore, but you’ll still hear them spouting close by. It’s an eerie and special experience when that happens.
