The panoramic view of the ocean across our rangeland is gorgeous, but one only comprehends the full drama of this rugged coast by hiking along the cliffs. There are sea stacks, caves, tiny beaches and, when the surf’s right, spouting blowholes. Seals often sun on the rocks and there’s a constant procession of sea birds flying by. Migrating whales are especially fun to watch in the Spring when they’re close to shore. Although it’s an easy walk along our one-mile of oceanfront, ATVs are available to make it easier, and a few benches and picnic tables are strategically placed for viewing and relaxing. The wild flowers seem to do best along the cliffs. Bring your flower and/or bird book, and don’t forget your camera and binoculars!
Hiking our inland hills and ridgelines also offers dramatic vistas. Well-maintained trails take you through redwoods, along streams and into little meadows. These trails are easy to negotiate in our ATVs.
It takes days to see all that the ranch has to offer so you may want to stay awile.
